I filmed this video at the Egyptian–Palestinian border while we were displaced in Rafah, just meters away from this towering wall, and behind it stood the Arab Republic of Egypt. We believed that by approaching the Egyptian border, the Zionist occupation would not dare to commit massacres before the eyes of the largest Arab country. But the massacre was happening just meters away from this wall, inside Gaza. Gaza, to this Arab state, was like a vast prison—one that no one could leave unless they could afford to pay $5,000 to survive. They did not care that just meters beyond this wall, we were being bombed and killed… and I still ask: why was this wall built ? This war did not only kill us, it revealed the truth, silence, complicity, and abandonment. From the heart of Gaza, we will not forget… and we will never forgive.

The man who was speaking to Congress as president launched a full fledged attack on its walls with HIS dangerous rhetoric on January 6, 2020. HE is the one who has made a mockery of our separation of powers. To punish a man who was already escorted out of the room after 2 minutes doesn’t send a message that we actually give a shit about the things we’re fighting for. Either we unite as a party to ANSWER this threat, or we need a serious discussion about who gets primaried. Who else is ready to RAISE YOUR FUCKING CANES!

We all condemned the criminal assault on activist @p_oruche at the Benin airport by people offended by her views. Most of us agree that in a democracy, speech is protected and jungle justice has no place, even when offense is caused. We said the same when Deborah was murdered for what she allegedly said in a student WhatsApp study group. Yet in the aftermath of the brutal assault and abduction of Don Pedro Obaseki, this was her contribution to the conversation. How is this ‘reasoning’ materially different from the logic used by those who insist that offensive speech justifies violence, including murder for blasphemy. If we cannot apply the same moral standard consistently, then a new Nigeria truly remains out of reach.

Moments after, someone was thrown down from the V.I.P. balcony - head first - by security. We have the security on camera and have contacted the event organiser, but are yet to hear a reply. We've since learned those climbing the wall were rushing to get their diabetes medication. It's Peace, Love, Unity & Respect - until it's not. Full video in the replies.
