I always tear up in this part every time I watch this episode 😭😭

And this was just the beginning of the trauma for Luz. Actually, I take that back. The trauma started in episode 1.

One first viewing, I felt like an idiot during this scene because it never occurred to me that she could have gone back at any point before the key was stolen. She chose to stay, so as a mom, of course she would feel like her own daughter hated her. This scene will always sting.

The best tv show Disney ever produced, owl house taught children the dangers of discrimination and how that can corrupt you inside and out and that sometimes people are so bad there’s no point trying to be friends with them even if you understand why they’re the way they are.
