This is playground tree house thinking. The boys build the tree house and stock it with cool stuff. Then the girls demand to be allowed in and the authority figures (moms, teachers, whoever) force the boys to "share." To the girls, all this great stuff is just there, and all the boys did was try to keep them out of it. Kind of like civilization.
