We don't hear any backlash when white actors play other races. Only when black actors play race swapped roles.

@TerrellLeftist

@TerrellLeftist Fictional characters Vs real historical figures distorted by white actors.

Interesting whitewashing other cultures narratives in order to present caucasians as default humans 🤔 especially since they have no culture other than stealing others’ cultures.

You got it!

He forgot about the most important one , dragon ball evolution

But then most Asian countries will completely hide black actors on the posters 😭 Misplaced anger if ever I seen it. Just wanting punching bags because they can't/won't do shit to ACTUAL culture and people who disrespects them on the constant

Racist Asian countries. I know China does this

That 21 movie is egregious. That's was based on a true story but they used white actors???

When white actors play POC the complaints are sensible and logical. When it is reversed it is an unholy movment of undiluted racism and vitriol

They take your movies but they took The story of Jesus and made him white.. they have a history of this

No complaints about this

For the 3 Body Problem they did even worse: the good Chinese characters from the book were turned into western people (although admittedly diverse), while all the bad Chinese characters stayed Chinese.

Why is this an issue? Asians literally do EVERYTHING THEY CAN to be white and align themselves with whiteness.. this is literally what y’all ask for 🥴🥴

I remember the movie hotel rwanda, takes place during the genocide in rwanda.. it was about a white guy caught in the cross fires trying to escape 🤦🏾♂️.. broo.. rwandans died, generations were traumatised.. you couldn't get one story of an african survivor and turn into a movie?!

Same energy

I see what you’re saying with some of the movies but the MIT one there’s literally a documentary made about it. There was a bunch of white people.

Where was the same energy when Dakota Fanning played a Muslim girl called Lilly Abdal in the 2019 drama film Sweetness in the Belly

@DJVertigo88 Well is she a Muslim why is she cosplaying as a Muslim? Why didn't a Muslim actor play the role

That photo that keeps being used of Lupita Nyong'o is from the movie 12 years a Slave. Diane Kruger's photo is from the movie Troy. If there is going to be a comparison of the Helens then make a direct and correct comparison. Lupita Nyong'o in #TheOdyssey .....

Yet these races of people still idolize these white western men that the know hate them and their people. In China they literally hire white guys to cosplay successful men to sell themselves things. lol

So, you just want it to continue both ways? How about we stop it altogether?

We can stop after 100 years. We need to first eradicate the brain washing

Mahdi of Sudan, Native Americans, ancient African and Near eastern characters, Ancient Romans and Greeks all played by the most German/Anglo looking characters and thats okay. Wed never see a white actor play a Somali pirate ever and that tells you all you need to know.

Theres 100% truth that theres a ridiculous double standard & whites benefit from race swaps in movies far more than other races, making it all the more insane when a segment of whites meltdown over a black actor playing Helen of Troy or Ariel.

10 commandments, Jesus Christ is a black man but they play a white man

Hollywood hates Asian men. Their marketing machine is lazy; they see Asian men as box office poison due to US wars w/ Japan, Korea, Vietnam, & current economic rivalry with China. But this is unfair for a lot of Asian-Americans.

Why hasn’t anyone or the Asian community been vocal about this?

Asian people want to be model citizens

@FLAK_MEN Calling Asians “model citizens” is actually a racial discrimination.

@Heal_within96 Yeah, that’s what she’s saying

White people have always had fragile egos and delusions of being replaced. But the other races are waking up to their bs. No one is going to tolerate this any longer.

Trojans were black

Dragon Ball Evolution, Speed Racer 2008, & Ghost in the Shell 2017 notoriously got tons of backlash for white washing the protagonists, I always thought that was funny cause Speed was the only one of those 3 who was actually asian

Jews guys…. Jews ffs. Jews aren’t White.

Those of you who haven’t seen “Oldboy” i highly recommend it asap! One of the best mind fuck movies I’ve ever watched

🤷🏽♂️🤷🏽♂️

Helen of troy is the product of a goose and a human that comes into the world by hatching from an egg. She has no fucking race because she's a fictional character.

If you want to watch movies that have an all Asian cast, watch movies made in Asian countries. Hollywood makes movies in the US and has to sell to an American audience. Hollywood knows what their audience wants and should provide it-it’s entertainment not indoctrination.

I hated it when they used an American Godzilla to fight King Kong. The Asian Godzilla should have gotten the part.

The Trojans were Etruscians, who were black. The depiction of Black trojan is historically accurate, however the "white wash" of history will disapprove. Black people were the first on every continent and region on earth, attacked ever since.

Too bad this isn’t a race swapped role like they want it to be. We are talking about a fictional character born from an egg with no physical description. She was labeled beautiful that is all. So people want to argue about something they are so clueless about is wild to me.

Lupita is a beautiful woman,no doubt. But casting her as Helen can’t help but feeling like a subtle racial superiority from Nolan.Lots of black greats in history- can be played by black people. Her face was purposefully scarred so as to make her lesser and the casting justifiable?

Wait the Brad Pitt's character in Money Ball was really an Asian man? Dang, he doesn't even look Asian
