This problem can be traced to a colonial education system imposed on the continent centuries ago which was never intended to uplift or “civilize” its people, but make them easier to exploit. When the European colonizer “left” Africa in the Decade of Independence, he left his colonial education system behind, in the care of his puppets. And it is this system which has robbed generation after generation of African youth of the social, intellectual and spiritual fortitude to nurture, develop and reap the fruits of their own Motherland.
