we don’t talk about this maul scene enough actually
16 Comments

he literally wanted ezra to fill the void left by savage. bro could definitely do everything differently about it but it’s what makes maul so interesting to me. he’s driven by a desire not just to be loved, but to have a chance to love in return (in his incredibly unhealthy way)

I’m really excited to see how much of the way he treated Ezra was informed by what happened with Devon.

Savage was the Brother Devon (I’m guessing) was the Friend Maul wanted Ezra to fill those voids.

“As a friend. As a brother.” Maul missed his brother. 😭

@RoGuesOne77 Now that you mention it, maybe so. He did lose his brother, after all

Ezra Fridger in subtitles 😭😭

He lost his brother. There’s a void to fill. And a planet with two suns sounds an awful lot like the desert kabobi ended up killing him in.

Who doesn't? I literally talk about this Maul scene like 3 or 4 times a week. Maul wears a shirt

Honestly if I was a Jedi survivor and Maul offers to be his apprentice I would have totally said yes

The death of his brother really messed him up He wants a companion badly

didn’t obi-wan bury maul next to his hut

@dinjarrus YESSS

this scene highlights even more the fact that maul's fatal flaw is that he's incapable of learning from his mistakes. when he lost savage, he regretted not ever treating him as a brother, only as an apprentice. yet, that's the same thing he did with ezra and devon

Maul is too shortsighted to ever consider loneliness as his biggest issue lmao it’s why he dies as a nobody in Tatooine

Really shows just how much Savage's death affected him.

bro just wants an apprentice sibling and maybe now he's found a sister
