WE Energies parent company made 1.5b+ in 2025 and the CEO mad $12m+ after stock options, etc. I live in Milwaukee County and our house loses power at least once a summer, seemingly if someone farts in the wrong direction. How do data centers play into this?

They don't want a 14% increase. They want a 3% increase. They know a state commission will deny the 14%. They will "settle" at 7% knowing its still double what they want. If they started at 7% then how that leave little for tax payer funded bonuses. Hence 14%.

sure none of this has to do with the microsoft data center that went live down in racine and all the handshake deals that got presented to customers something along the lines of “data centers will be paying their own large market customer rate”. any thoughts here @Mattysmokes181

This isn't about data centers this is investments in renewable energy they want to build two big solar farms and that cost money to build they also need to train and hire new workers which is where the bulk of this money is going we are lucky to have a PSC who stands up for us.

Should force a 14% rate cut instead.

That's on top of the $100 more per month I am now paying compared to 1 1/2 yrs ago. It's ridiculous & it needs to stop!!!

And of course, the PSC will allow it, just like every other increase they've asked for
