India recognized Israel in 1950, even though full diplomatic ties came only in 1992 because of Cold War politics and regional equations. Since then, the relationship has grown steadily not loudly, but meaningfully. During Kargil in 1999, when India urgently needed defence supplies, Israel stepped up. That moment built real trust. From there, cooperation expanded defence tech, intelligence sharing, agriculture, water innovation, startups, cybersecurity. At the same time, India has maintained strong ties across West Asia and consistently supported dialogue and a two-state solution. That’s not contradiction that’s strategic balance. The India–Israel bond today is built on history, trust and shared interests. It’s not emotional alignment. It’s long-term thinking.
