I grew up in township with people shouting โ€œumshanelo we gceke โ€œmeaning broom for the yard, weโ€™ve been have people selling brooms outside. Our African siblings havenโ€™t done anything special, this lady just spoke alot of nonsense so out of touch with poor SAs reality

she is not that brilliant, here we are talking about illegal foreigners, that work small jobs and commit crime... let's make the label clear, illegal foreigner. this lady looks too privileged, she doesn't have an illegal as a neighbour . her parents are middle-class

Who sold brooms in the townships before foreigners flooded our communities? She completely missed the point. There is not a single country in Africa that allows foreigners to be involved in small scale business. They specifically indicate that same is reserved for locals.

They chased away the shoe repairer who sat at the corner of Methodist Church Next to the BP garage. It's been two weeks since the Bloem looting. There's still no South African sitting there doing that job. The sphazas are open again. Still owned by Pakistanis.

What is even worse about fake woke politically correct young impressionable pick me's like this, she thinks traditional brooms were invented by illegal foreigners. They must go sell brooms in their home countries. This is why some countries do not allow woman to go to school.

Naive! We don't walk around because we are employed where brooms are sold. When an illegal foreigner walks around selling brooms, we lose our customers leading to shop closures and empty malls. Mwll closes = cleaners, security guards .......all lose their jobs.

It is illegal for immigrants to for instance sell brooms. No visa for such & the conduct is variance with the law. An immigrant who wants to conduct business in SA must have a business visa. It has its own requirements. This is not about taking jobs but obeying the law.

William ็š„ๅคดๅƒ

That's a strange argument to make, but ok. Just because YOU won't do something doesn't mean other South Africans won't. If you're too proud to do certain work, unwilling to learn new skills, or unwilling to take risks, that's YOUR choice as an individual. You don't get to project that onto millions of other people. If someone can arrive here with little to no money, support and no political power, yet still find ways to earn an income and succeed in life, then clearly it can be done.๐Ÿ˜‚And funny enough that puts a damper on the whole land issue๐Ÿ˜‚. The problem isn't that South Africans are incapable. It's that different people make different choice and so the results will be different. What's ironic is that politicians spend years telling people that the private sector, entrepreneurs, and capitalism are what's holding them back. Yet the very behaviour they're praising in illegal immigrants is the same behaviour they condemn in SAn business owners and self-made people taking risks, identifying opportunities, working long hours, and creating value where none existed before, BUT, they only do so coz of skin color, (incase you didn't know the grift) You can't tell people that success comes from ownership, initiative, and productive efforts, then attack those same principles coz certain citizens practice them. And if illegal immigration also increases competition for low-skilled jobs and informal trade, who do you think feels that pressure first? Wealthy people, or poor South Africans trying to get started themselves? If the argument is that illegal immigrants should be allowed to stay coz they're here already and they're productive, then what exactly prevented them from being productive in their own countries? if its their governments, then what allows them to succeed in THIS country?
