Like Portnoy just discovered the World Cup and thinks he has the answers. Spain won. Argentina lost. The tournament was amazing. That's not a problem.

Need fewer players to open up the field. Have a player sit out for fouls just like hockey. Institute a 30 second rule to eliminate injury faking. A player must be replaced if they don’t get up within this time.

Americans only watched it because it was here and the hype surrounding it. The flopping is super cringe and needs fixed also.

3 things need to change: 1st, the time keeping. There needs to be a visible “end” time that everyone can see. Get rid of the running clock and implement NFL style clock stoppage/start by the refs. 2nd, gotta fix the incidental contact red cards. Two prominent ones (US & UK) exposed just how unfair the system is. A straight up red should be a deliberate action 3rd, the blatant fake injury BS. Easy enough to have a video review ref checking the dives and seeing if they were legit contact. I did see them review and penalize 1 player early on for it but more need to be called and they need to be called on plays without a penalty initially called to really crack down on it.

If they have to stop play because a player is supposedly "injured" they need to be either subbed out (not to return) or have to be "examined and treated" (off the field) for 2 minutes while their team plays a man down.

The reason Americans don’t like soccer at its current state is Americans used to every small action in a game contributes in someway to the result but in soccer 90% of actions were meaningless, spain created 10 shot on targets and still almost went to penalties

You can’t have a penalty so severe that you play without a player without any type of limit… you could lose a guy in the first five minutes of the game to a red card and then you gotta play the rest of the game another 85 minutes without him? No way change that shit.

The British associations (England, Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland, plus Fifa) create the rules mate, sorry....

"Entire body has to be offsides" is a good call... because before VAR it was always just using your eyes and you can't really take snapshots like that without a camera.

The issue is it is already Americanized. It’s all about making money in youth club soccer so many don’t have the opportunity and are never discovered. Also they don’t weed the herd at a young age.

The offside rule should be measured with the feet. The start of a perfectly timed run is then rewarded. The body tilt shouldn't matter.

If a player flops as if they’re injured, they should have to leave the game. If anyone is actually in that much pain, they should have to leave the game. Therefore, the pu$$y flopping would stop and Americans might actually be able to watch it.

All you need to do is get rid of VAR! No rules need to change. VAR is ruining the beautiful game....
