We had a monetary protocol that was going to change the world. Bitcoin had a singular purpose as permissionless money. Then we fucked it up by funneling $100M through Brink, Chaincode Labs, Spiral, OpenSats and HRF. I can’t make peace with this.

Mike Tyson says he used his money to make life in prison comfortable “When I was in prison, I still had money. So, I would fix people's houses up. The doctors or whoever they were, the guards, I would just send them money, give them money for their kids to go to college and everything. I really had it cool in prison” “My first year I was an asshole, so that's why they had to give me that extra year. I really had life in there. It was really crazy though. It wasn't reality though. It wasn't the real world” “After my first year being an asshole in prison, I was the mac. I had anything I wanted. Me and my roommate, we had a menu. Spaghetti and meatballs, steak and rice. We had a menu for what we was going to eat” “We were just blessed by God that I was able to have the resources to do that”

Trump Lies and Says it was NOT Jesus, it was him as a Doctor You really can't make this crap up POTUS: I did post it, and I thought it was me as a doctor and had to do with the Red Cross as a Red Cross worker there, which we support, and only the fake news could come up with that one (that he is depicted as Jesus Christ). So I had just heard about it, and I said, how did they come up with that? It's supposed to be me as a doctor making people better, and I do make people better. I make people a lot better.

JD Vance on Trump: "He was President, and take-home pay was going up faster than it had in 40 years. Inflation was low. The border was secure. And remember, they all said Donald Trump was going to start World War III, and yet we had more peace around the globe than we had had in a generation in this country." JD Vance Donald J. Trump

We need a change to the #tax system to make it more just. People that have money are paying way less tax because the tax system was written by people with money, for people with money... This needs to change.

U.S. Brid. Gen Mark Kimmitt explains catastrophic US YPG policy fiasco in Syria: „We told the Turks and our policy that this relationship with the PKK with the YPG was going to be temporary. It was going to be transactional and it was going to be tactical. That was the American policy that time expressed numerous times. It didn't mean that we were long-term allies to the YPG. It meant that we had a specific purpose, for a specific time and at the end of that we were going to break apart.“

Yoweri Museveni: I discussed with Mr Dangote and Presidents Ruto and Samia that we’re going to build a small refinery in Uganda. We had planned this long ago. We can’t change that… This one, I support, but I will not invest yet.

POND STOP 😭😭 PONDPHUWIN THE INTERVIEW #THEINTERVIEWxPONDPHUWIN #PondPhuwin #ปอนด์ภูวินทร์ 💬| What’s the least amount of money you’ve ever had? 🐻: Oh, this is one of those questions where I immediately knew the answer as soon as I saw it. It was when I was in high school. My family.. my mom, my younger sibling, and I had basically run out of money. We were even in the negative and had debts bc my dad had passed away. Since my dad passed away, my mom had to be the only one working. She had to carry so many things on her own, so we had quite a lot of financial difficulties back then. I remember that whenever we ate, we had to eat whatever was left in the fridge. It was still fresh food that we had bought and stored, but we had to eat what was already there bc at that point, we didn’t have a single baht left. Honestly, having the life I have today wasn’t easy at all. It was something incredibly difficult but I want to thank myself for not giving up, no matter what I went through. Even when I felt discouraged, I kept going until today. I really want to thank myself for that.

WE HAD A GOOD THING, YOU STUPID SON OF A BITCH. We had Assad. We had Hezbollah. We had the Axis of Resistance. We had everything we needed and it all ran like clockwork. You could've shut your mouth, cooked and much money as you ever needed. It was perfect. But no, you just had to blow it up. You and your pride and your ego. You just had to be the man.

President Trump on President Putin: “I think he’ll keep his word. I’ve spoken to him. I’ve known him for a long time now. We had to go through the Russian hoax together — that was not a good thing. It was unfair. That was a rigged deal and had nothing to do with Russia…They had to put up with that, too…I don’t believe he’s going to violate his word.”

Alex Karp on the U.S. AI revolution: “This macro trend is going to change everything that we do. War and peace. How we fight. Where we fight. This is maybe the first time since we had the Bomb — before our adversaries stole it — where we have a massive structural advantage... This is going to change every single thing.” #RNDF2024

Trump: We had to put out this cancer. We had to take that operation. We did. It was very successful and it continues. We could leave today and it would ten years to rebuild the damage that has been done. I think we have to make it a little bit more permanent

Elon Musk: I gave SpaceX and Tesla all my money, and then I didn't have a house and had to borrow money for rent. “We blew up three rockets in the beginning. That was bad. Originally, I basically took all the money I made from PayPal, put it into SpaceX, Tesla and SolarCity. Initially, I figured I'd keep half of it, and then I'd spend the other half on these crazy ventures that would probably fail. And then, unfortunately, they needed all the money, so I had to give them all the money. And then I didn't have a house and had to borrow money for rent. That was pretty difficult. That was back in 2008. And then, we managed to scrape enough spare parts together to do a fourth launch at SpaceX and that worked. And if it had not worked, SpaceX would have died, probably would have lacked the credibility to raise the remaining money for Tesla and we wouldn't be here today.” Interview at E3 Coliseum, June 13, 2019

Charlize Theron reveals that every room in the house she grew up in in South Africa had steel doors because of the violence, as the country was on the brink of civil war. We had gone to see a movie, and my dad had taken the key to the side door, not even the front door, the front steel door. Every room in our house had a steel door. So if you got in through the front door, the kitchen had a steel door that you had to unlock, because that’s the kind of violence we were living in. Nonsensical violence. Like, violence that you couldn’t reason with. It just… I mean, our country was on the brink of civil war. It was frightening.

"The thesis was not invalidated, it was just an idiosyncratic execution failure" Multicoin co-founder Tushar Jain on losing money on EOS, then leading the Solana seed round "The first big investment we made with that thesis was a network called EOS. We published a couple of reports on it, we were pretty bullish. It was a credible engineering team led by Dan Larimer, who had built two blockchains before. They had $4 billion that they had raised, which we thought was going to be used to further the network." "Clearly that didn't work out. They kind of just took the money and went away, so we lost a lot of money on that." "As investors we didn't get to see any of that productively deployed. But later that year we invested in the Solana seed round." "So we doubled down on the thesis, despite losing money, and we led the Solana seed round."
