Mazal Tov to Holocaust survivor Saul Dreier, who is celebrating his 100th birthday today! Born in Kraków, Poland, Saul was the only member of his family to survive the Holocaust. He survived the Kraków Ghetto and several concentration camps, including Plaszów, Auschwitz, Mauthausen, and Linz. After the war, Saul was sent to a Displaced Persons camp in Italy where he learned to play the drums. In 2014, he put those drum skills to use when he founded the Holocaust Survivor Band with fellow Floridian and Holocaust survivor Ruby Sosnowicz. Today, Saul shares his story around the world and spreads a message of peace through his Klezmer music. Thank you, Saul, for reminding us that Jewish joy is an act of resilience. When Saul reached Damascus, according to the account in the New Testament of the Bible (Acts 9:1-19), he experienced a dramatic event on the road leading to the city. Saul, a fervent persecutor of early Christians, was travelling to Damascus to arrest followers of Jesus. As he neared the city, a bright light from heaven suddenly flashed around him, and he fell to the ground. He heard a voice saying, “Saul, Saul, why are you persecuting me?” When Saul asked who was speaking, the voice replied, “I am Jesus, whom you are persecuting.”Blinded by the light, Saul was led by his companions into Damascus. For three days, he was blind and neither ate nor drank. In Damascus, a disciple named Ananias, instructed by God in a vision, visited Saul. Ananias laid hands on him, and Saul’s sight was restored. He was filled with the Holy Spirit, baptised, and began proclaiming Jesus as the Son of God in the synagogues, a stark transformation from his previous mission. This event marked Saul’s conversion to Christianity, after which he became known as Paul, a pivotal figure in spreading the Christian faith.

A woman in Louisiana woke up to find a baby and her neighbor on her front porch. The child belonged to neither of them. 🫠 The toddler showed up at the Vaughns’ house in just a diaper and rang the doorbell. Vaughn took the child to his neighbor’s house hoping for help, since she has kids. For a second, Vaughn wondered if one of his exes had dropped the baby off thinking it was his. 😂 In the end, the child had snuck out of his own house and was eventually reunited with his parents. Good morning!
