It was a moment of profound reflection and gratitude to lead the Board of the ncc.gov.ng on a courtesy visit to the Governor of Lagos State, Babajide Sanwo-Olu last Thursday. As I mentioned during our meeting, my "PhD in Public Service" was obtained within the The Lagos State Govt ecosystem. To return now, in this federal capacity, and be received so warmly by a leader who was once my "Dean" in that school of service, is truly humbling. Our discussions reinforced the central role Lagos continues to play as Nigeria’s hub for telecommunications, innovation, and the digital economy, a position built over decades of deliberate governance and reform. This legacy, championed and consolidated under the leadership of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, Bola Ahmed Tinubu continues to shape Lagos as the template for national progress. The NCC remains committed to deepening collaboration with Lagos State to ensure that the infrastructure powering our nation’s economic engine remains resilient, compliant, and future-ready. Thank you, Mr. Governor, for the commendation and for reminding us that while we serve the nation, we must never forget the soil that nurtured our capacity to serve.

Yesterday, I addressed the Central working Committee of the Lagos4Lagos Movement who are drawn from all the Local Governments in Lagos State to personally re-affirm my readiness to joining the Lagos State Gubernatorial race in 2027 as against doing so by proxy. Our deliberations were not merely about ambition, but about articulating a shared vision for the future of Lagos—one anchored in inclusive governance, sustainable growth, and the empowerment of our people. We deliberated on strategies that transcend politics-as-usual, focusing instead on how to strengthen the very foundations of our democracy: accountability, transparency, and service delivery. I made it clear that, regardless of individual outcomes, our duty remains to Lagos and to the progress of our party, the All Progressives Congress (APC). Together, we will continue to put our hands to the plough, working tirelessly to ensure that the APC not only succeeds electorally but also delivers meaningfully for the people of Lagos. For me, this is about stewardship, about building a Lagos where opportunity, innovation, and prosperity are accessible to all. I told them, it’s time to begin intra-Political activities and galvanize support for the party in preparations for the 2027 general elections.

Took my friends beyond the Lagos Island to experience the real city. From Agege’s iconic mural walls and fresh Agege bread, to the vibes at New Afrika Shrine where Made Kuti was rehearsing live, it was pure magic. We wrapped up with amala & ewedu, then hit the streets at night for suya, markets, and that authentic Lagos energy. Earlier today, i was on channels TV to discuss the floods, waste management and the issues Lagosians are dealing with. It is unfortunate that Newspapers like Newsweek and The Tribune exhibited desperate and lazy journalism by literally attributing things to me i did not say. I thank Channels, the Nation and the New telegraph for their Nuance . Let me be very clear, My Job in this cycle is to unite all Lagosians, (the disenchanted APC youth ,Obidients, PDP and Labour party faithful, everyone that loves Lagos and wants a lagos that works) against the problems holding Lagos back: “THE APC". We will bring together people across ALL party lines, ages and class to ensure we form a government that puts you the LAGOSIAN first because it is time for Our Lagos.
