We had an interesting discussion with CP today about what the “development” process looks like for a young QB in 2026. JuJu is the 2nd-youngest starting P4 QB in the country. In a CFB world where winning now is the priority, can you afford to be patient?

@RealMatSmith People have to realize that Juju is different than Shedeur. Juju is more smooth but Shedeur is more aggressive. Juju is young the best thing for him is to lean on this running game and play great defense. The issue is when explosives are there he has to make them.

Translation: He’s figuring it out on the fly what developing a QB1 is like who isn’t his son whom he had a deep personal connection with & with that comes bumps. We are seeing IRT what that means in terms of results & how he coaches through that. Unprecedented territory.

It’s just so ass backwards tho when it comes to development timelines in this program. Last year was the year he shoulda started so many Damm games, you don’t let/ try to save a bunch of freshmen who looked promising at times from leaving. (Now they all ride the bench at better programs) Then this year you go with the veteran approach, yet the QB needs the development year because you played salter all last season. Not to mention you bring in a OC who fit SALTER better than fits juju. Idk man just a brutal spot to be in all around.
