Let me make it clear that our fight was against terrorists and the infrastructure supporting them. That is exactly what we targeted, while ensuring there was no collateral damage. Our objectives had been achieved and the mission was complete. However, when the Pakistani establishment chose to side with terror and turn it into its own fight, we had no choice but to respond in kind. What followed was an act of self defence, and our response was precise, lethal and uncompromising. After suffering heavy losses, the adversary sought a cessation of hostilities. We paused when the request came. We stepped back, but we did not blink. They are going on, years have passed, because no one is thinking about conflict termination...We heard that people said that no, we should have done a little more. We stopped the war very quickly.
