The fridge was costing 1 year salary tbh... So maybe "we" did not have one at all or one like that at least.

Theres many reasons why, Safety standards were terrible, Pricing was only for the elite, hands were broken in these things, babys died in these fridges, mechanical and efficiency problems. Durability too.

It's really a debate on cost of production and market competition. Nobody today would buy a $20,000 fridge. Thats why.

I think what happened, appliance companies were making products that were so good and long lasting, people didn’t need to keep buying them. That’s why most appliances only last up to 5 years now. We got suckered.

@JonesHowdareyou This rotafrig according to family legend was invented by my Uncle Ernie. My mother had one back in day. Very practical as the shelves rotated.

It was too tough and expensive to make.. corporations cheapened everything up to maximize profits and sales volume.
