Spoke to a well known gears manufacturer who told me that apparently Höfler, the German CNC giant which manufactures machines for gear teeth grinding has their order books full for the next 24 months! Most of those orders are going to China. This tells us that although China has huge numbers in manufacturing, precision machines are still largely sourced from Europe or Japan. They might not have nailed it yet but going by their speed of development in various sectors, they will eventually get there. Point is, we need to go down this path of development and manufacturing too. It’s a long, hard path to follow but it’s one that must be done. We cannot have the mindset that importing machines is the norm. Some of us will inevitably have to choose to go down this long and difficult road. Some of us will have to pull up our sleeves, get our hands dirty and build for the future to truly be self-reliant.

Germany’s Merz on Europe’s defense products: We will have to keep three objectives in mind. First, we must simplify our systems; we build too complex. Second, we have too many systems that are developed, procured, and financed in parallel and alongside one another. And third, we need higher production volumes. If we orient ourselves around these three guiding principles — simplification, a reduction in the number of systems, and scale, meaning larger production volumes — then I believe we will be able to achieve significantly greater defense capability with the naturally limited public budgets available to us.

If you, for example, look at storage of personal data, obviously a lot of Europeans are angry that their personal data is stored outside of the EU. So we have to build our own data centers and our own AI factories so we can actually own the data of our own citizens. But in the end, there is no such thing as European full autonomy. You will always need to collaborate with our friends in Canada, in the US, in other partnerships around the world. ASML and other tech companies can play a crucial role both in the US and here.

A New Black South isn’t just an idea. It’s a strategy to build Black political and economic power. We have the numbers to shape the future and influence state and local governments. That’s why I teach Civics for the People—so we understand how the system works and how to use our numbers to our advantage. If Black people are 14% of the U.S. population but 38% of Mississippi, we have leverage there. Louisiana is 34% Black. Those numbers matter, but only if we’re organized. Nobody is coming to save us. We have the numbers to save ourselves and help move this nation forward. We have to be willing to build again. I’m not interested in convincing people we deserve power. I’m interested in building enough power that our communities can determine their own future. Every other group organizes, builds critical mass, and exercises political influence. We should unapologetically do the same. This ain’t for everybody. But it might be for you. Support Civics for the People through the link in my bio and help us build a New Black South. The Russian army has turned our cities and villages in the Donetsk region and beyond into ruins. And this is exactly what we are fighting to stop. We are fighting against death – the death that Russia is bringing to our land. We must not allow Russia to blur reality or mislead the world. Moscow must be forced into diplomacy. We need a ceasefire. We need real peace. We need real security. We must use every method available to achieve this – our front line and our defense, our production and technology, our work to build a real security architecture. We must be effective in all of it. I said this in my address to the participants of the Ramstein meeting. I thank everyone who is helping. Glory to Ukraine!

"We may be a poor country, but we are a capable country, and we are determined to own up to that responsibility," he said. "If others step in and support us, we appreciate it, but we are not begging for it, and we also will live within what we have".

H. E. John Dramani Mahama does not know it all. Even if he did, he cannot do it all by himself. It’ll take the contribution of each and everyone of us to help build the Ghana that we want. So let’s support him in whatever way we can. Our country is at a crossroad now and so I don’t care if you’re NDC or you’re NPP. What we must focus on now as citizens of this country is the development of the country. If you’re indeed a Ghanaian who wishes well for Ghana, this is the time. This is the time to fold your sleeves and get your hands dirty. We’ve got a country to build. We’ve got a nation to set on the path of success not just for our generation but for those to come.
