Major tweak - how about we try 4 teams, who actually deserve a chance to be national champions- and have conference championships that are meaningful play in games- we should try that

Go back to the BCS end of season rankings that factored in SOS. Top 8 regardless of conference affiliation. No auto bids. Seed by ranking. Done. Wanna go 12? Fine. Same thing. Top 4 ranked teams get byes. No auto byes by conference.
