We have multiple #solarstorms hitting Earth this week, which could bring us #aurora filled skies over the next few days. Even though over 18 active regions are in Earth-view, the risk for big flares and #RadioBlackouts decreases slightly this week. The 5-Day Outlooks are below.

As awesome as ever. (I wonder if you might "lip synch" with a slightly ~half-second advanced sound track like Dean Martin and Dick Clark, fwiw.) I have missed the show but hope to catch up. Also hope you may touch on Sun nucleus? And also gravity weaves from nearby neutron pairs and Sag A*. Any thoughts on Higgs size approximately same as superluminous x-ray source of binary neutron stars?

Here’s your space weather report for the week of Aug 14 - 20: • 4 M-class flares • 3 C-class flares • 22 coronal mass ejections • 0 geomagnetic storms This video from NASA’s Solar Dynamics Observatory (SDO) shows the week’s activity. All of this week’s M-class flares happened in the last two days of this reporting period. Their source is the active region AR14513, which appears as a bright cluster that rotates into view from the Sun’s eastern limb (left side) starting on the 19th, about 2:30 into this video. We’ll keep an eye on this busy active region as it moves into an Earth-facing position over the coming days. Related: New NASA-funded efforts to predict active regions before they emerge:

Their source is the active region AR14513, which appears as a bright cluster that rotates into view from the Sun’s eastern limb (left side) starting on the 19th, about 2:30 into this video.
