Today we honor all of the brave men and women who have served our great nation with dedication and bravery and in some cases their lives. Our Veterans should always have our respect and thanks. We should always salute them, cherish and treasure them. They and their families have sacrificed so much. And think of all of those who have given their lives in the fight for freedom for us all. That is a debt that we can never possibly repay. We should remember that every night when we are home safe in our beds. We lost so many — each of them a living, breathing person. Absolutely horrifying scene, and right now the only thing that matters is the safety of everyone who may have been on board, the pilots, the crew, first responders, and every service member near that area. These men and women put their lives on the line even during training, testing, and routine operations that most Americans never see, and moments like this remind us how dangerous military service can be even far away from a battlefield.
