Byron Highton is spot on, it's a cultural problem not a knife problem. The government needs to stop ignoring the root causes of this issue and start addressing the real problems. We need common sense solutions, not more bureaucratic nonsense.

I have a whole range of kitchen knives, yet never once have I felt the urge to hurt someone. Knives are not the issue. Those who brandish them are.

There are 25 million dwellings in the UK, each probably has 5 knives minimum, so say 125 million knives available, I don't think it's a knife problem.
