I am in San Diego to accept the Esri President’s Award in recognition of Jamaica’s use of this critical platform for problem-solving, most recently in our response to Hurricane Melissa. We are also seeing how cities around the world are using GIS to solve thousands of real-world challenges and the tremendous possibilities this technology offers. Jamaica will not be left behind. We are harnessing the power of technology to drive growth and development. Today we're unveiling something truly extraordinary—one of the coolest and most transformative technologies: Mixed Reality Testing (MRT). Since launching Waabi World four years ago, we've been building towards this pivotal moment - bringing our virtual testing capabilities into the physical world to fundamentally transform what's possible in autonomous vehicle development. For over 100 years, closed-course testing has been the staple of vehicle safety testing. But creating scenarios on a physical test track resembles elaborate movie-stunts—it’s difficult to reproduce tests consistently, those tests do not capture the diversity of the real-world, and the range of safety-critical scenarios we can test is very limited because of the risk of damaging equipment or, worse, endangering lives. MRT changes everything! First, we are capable of producing at least 2,000 effective and combat-proven interceptors every day. We can produce more – it depends on investment. We need about 1,000 interceptors a day, and we can supply at least another 1,000 a day to our allies. Second, we know how to build radar and acoustic coverage to respond to how “shaheds” and other drones approach. Third, we have software that allows radars to keep working even under electronic warfare jamming. In real time, we analyze enemy frequencies and respond to them. And because of this system, we understand how effective our defense is against almost every attack drone, and we can move our positions and air defense to get better results. This iPad gives full control of the situation because we have a system for using our defense tools. If a “shahed” needs to be stopped in the Emirates – we can do it. If it needs to be stopped in Europe or the United Kingdom – we can do it. It is a matter of technology, investment, and cooperation. Today, I held a Staff meeting where we had in-depth discussions about the use of air defense systems and the protection of our cities and communities. Steps were identified to make the use of the systems we already have more effective. We are also working on securing additional protection for Ukraine. We are very much counting on the "Patriot" system that Romania is preparing to provide, and I will be grateful to Romania for this crucial support. This is something that will truly help our people, our country, and our entire region. We continue to work with all our partners to secure stronger support for our defense—especially long-range solutions that could destroy a significant portion of Russian ballistic missiles before they even launch. This is one of the key issues of this war. The issue of our long-range capabilities and the necessary approvals from our partners, as well as the long-range shells and missiles we could use, is critical. Russian strikes will become impossible if we have the ability to destroy the occupier's launch sites, military airfields, and logistics hubs where they are located. Today, I held a Staff meeting where we had in-depth discussions about the use of air defense systems and the protection of our cities and communities. Steps were identified to make the use of the systems we already have more effective. We are also working on securing additional protection for Ukraine. We are very much counting on the "Patriot" system that Romania is preparing to provide, and I will be grateful to Romania for this crucial support. This is something that will truly help our people, our country, and our entire region. We continue to work with all our partners to secure stronger support for our defense—especially long-range solutions that could destroy a significant portion of Russian ballistic missiles before they even launch. This is one of the key issues of this war.
