why do people think that inflation coming down means that prices will come down? Inflation is the rate of change of prices, as long as it's positive, prices will go up. Only if inflation becomes negative will prices drop. So even though inflation has come down from 10% to 4%. That means the groceries you buy have gone up 4% from this point last year.
