We are calling on the Govt to: 🟢Rollout a national attendance mentors programme 🟢Increase support for children with SEND and mental health disorders 🟢Introduce a register of children not in school Staff at @NorthEdTrust told us how they think we should tackle this issue 👇

Data for autumn 2022 showed nearly 1/4 of all pupils missed 10%+ of their lessons. Our Chair @WalkerWorcester comments:

We want to thank our witnesses who answered our questions in Parliament, and the 200+ orgs and individuals who submitted evidence to us, including: @ChildrensComm @CSJThinkTank @MindCharity @TeamSquarePeg Read our report:

@ActionTutoring Completely agree. This is why I’ve piloted and launched the first intersectional way to ask students this. We’ve asked almost 3,000 students in 3 weeks already. This enables schools to target support. Would love to discuss.

@ActionTutoring Brilliant representation- so glad we’re looking beyond the stats to mh, support, mentoring, trust, relationships, safety - not just ‘being safe’ but *feeling* safe which has a whole load more complexity for children who’ve lived thro trauma and or have attachment building needs.

@ActionTutoring Stop talking the talk. DfE is pushing kids, staff & parents to break point. Rules, targets & data have overtaken the basic idea that kids go to school to learn from enthusiastic teachers. TOO MUCH PRESSURE on everyone

When an Education Committee only listens to Educationalists what do you think it learns? Where are the opposing voices? P.S.E. needs to be dropped entirely from the National Curriculum. It is the responsibility of parents. If schools can't manage children with diverse opinions then how will any child grow?

@ActionTutoring 🚨 Children should feel safe & confident to go to school. Not in Warrington, my 2 daughters were given a safeguarding agreement by the school that failed. 2 Children from my daughters class now on remand for a brutal, sadistic murder. Council & Police warned a child could die.

@ActionTutoring Great recommendations - now lets see some action.
