We have recently launched the first “DEEP” underwater drone system in a demonstration mission that marked a significant milestone for our Group in the field of underwater technology. DEEP is designed for the protection, development, and maintenance of critical infrastructure and port areas, while also performing monitoring and environmental... protection activities. Thanks to a network of underwater sensors for early warning, a Command and Control Center for real-time operational management, a team of autonomous underwater vehicles capable of conducting missions at different levels of autonomy, cooperation, and coordination, and an Al-based system dedicated to data analysis and processing, we bring on board a dual-purpose and versatile technology able to operate efficiently in diverse contexts. Watch some highlights from DEEP’s missions 👇show more

China has developed a 3-kg bionic robotic fish designed to move underwater more naturally and quietly than conventional underwater drones. Its body uses seven sections and three movable tail joints to mimic the movement of a real fish. The robot can reportedly operate autonomously for around 5 hours on a charge and carries a front-mounted sonar system for monitoring its underwater surroundings. But its most interesting feature may be its appearance—it is designed to resemble an ordinary fish, potentially making it harder to notice. That could give biomimetic robots an interesting role in underwater reconnaissance and surveillance. The idea is simple: instead of building a machine that looks like a machine, build one that looks like part of the environment—and let it quietly observe what is happening underwater. #China #robot #robotics #chinarobot #underwaterworld

LUYTEN 3D and researchers at the University of Wollongong have developed Australia’s first underwater 3D concrete printing system, alongside a “single-mix” concrete formulation that works underwater without chemical accelerators. The technology enables direct underwater construction and repair of marine and subsea infrastructure while reducing reliance on dry docking and large-scale marine works. Potential applications include ports, coastal infrastructure, offshore energy, and defence projects, including support for future submarine and floating wind farm infrastructure. Iran may study the technology of a captured US underwater drone Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) said it had captured a US Dive-LD underwater drone near the entrance to the Strait of Hormuz. The system was developed by California-based Anduril. Military analyst Kevin Rowlands said the capture could be both a propaganda victory for Iran and an opportunity to study US technology. Of particular interest would be the propulsion system, communications and navigation systems, and the drone’s controls. The Pentagon said the drone had malfunctioned and was an older version that contained no classified systems or data. Rowlands also believes that the most sensitive technologies may have been protected against capture and exploitation.

#WATCH | Visakhapatnam, Andhra Pradesh: Defence Minister Rajnath Singh says, "Under DRDO, the work done by NSTL is a benchmark in itself. The research being conducted here on torpedo systems, underwater mines, decoys, and Autonomous Underwater Vehicles—all of this is taking India forward in the direction of making it a strong naval power... Your growing capabilities indicate that we are taking the right steps towards future warfare. Moreover, the way you have worked on Lithium-ion battery technology is also very important. Earlier, we used to depend on others for these things. Today, we are designing ourselves, developing ourselves, and working with small and large industries to advance it."

⚔️🇩🇪🇪🇺 Europe is moving to build a coordinated Baltic security shield against drones, sabotage and attacks on critical infrastructure, with nine countries agreeing to create a new joint task force focused on hybrid threats. At an August 28 meeting in Flensburg chaired by German Interior Minister Alexander Dobrindt, ministers from Denmark, Ireland, Latvia, Lithuania, Norway, Poland, Finland, Sweden and Estonia agreed to establish a deputy-minister-level task force to strengthen protection of critical infrastructure and improve counter-drone defense across the Baltic region. The move follows the August 4 drone attack on Leipzig/Halle Airport and repeated damage incidents involving underwater cables in the Baltic Sea since 2022. The participating states also plan to push for defense-related funding to receive priority in the EU’s 2028–2034 budget. The absence of formal attribution reflects political caution, but the strategic direction is obvious: Europe is preparing for a security environment in which drones, sabotage and attacks on underwater infrastructure become routine tools of pressure below the threshold of open war. If the initiative expands, it could become the foundation of a broader European counter-drone and critical-infrastructure defense network designed to close some of NATO’s most exposed vulnerabilities in the Baltic region.
