You've already seen horror stories of AI providing mental health care to vulnerable kids — to walking kids through how to hurt themselves or take their own lives. The last I would prioritize is our democracy. I tried to pass a bipartisan bill in the legislature to ban AI deepfakes in political campaigns. I wasn't able to get that bill over the finish line. Now I think I'm being punished, and that's why Ken Paxton and the Republicans have already started using AI deepfakes against me. So we have to again have basic rules of the road to ensure that we're protecting workers, protecting kids, and protecting this democratic process.
