China on Wednesday successfully conducted a low-altitude demonstration and verification flight test for its Long March-10 carrier rocket and a maximum dynamic pressure abort flight test for its new-generation crewed spaceship system Mengzhou in the southern island province of Hainan, marking a major breakthrough for the country's future crewed lunar landing missions. The return capsule of the new-generation Mengzhou crewed spaceship has safely splashed down in the predetermined sea area, according to the China Manned Space Agency.

NASA Administrator Jared Isaacman says the primary objective of the Artemis II’s trip around the moon is “to gather data from the ECLSS system, the life support system on the Orion spacecraft,” which will be used in future missions. “Learning as much as we can about Orion is critically important because Artemis III is a year away,” he says. “That's where we're going to test the same spacecraft with our lunar landers. Followed up in 2028 by Artemis IV, where we're going to use this spacecraft, transfer crew to the landers, and put American astronauts back on the surface of the moon.”

This was Big Boy's first unplanned stop, just outside Wheatland in the Great Central Valley of California. We had just watched it go by when I looked in the rearview mirror and noticed the train had stopped. We turned around and jumped out of the car, hoping to get a closer view. The sky that day was so dramatic, adding to the scene. Once the freight train passed, Big Boy started rolling again, so we followed it only to find it on the siding again, where we got right up to it as seen in the last video.

The country is pushing to land astronauts on the Moon’s surface before 2030, and this successful test was a huge step forward. The completion of this landing and ascent verification test validated the overall design, engine shutdown procedures, and the integration of the GNC and propulsion subsystems.
