First and foremost, we will put the American people first. We cannot succumb to Wilsonian distractions. We cannot expend the people’s treasure — much less spill our citizens blood — with murky missions or misguided agendas. We will have a clear-eyed, no nonsense approach to our enemies. Those who seek to harm the United States of America will have no worse enemy than the United States of America. As a veteran of the Iraq War, I recognize the gravity of deploying U.S. troops in combat — and I hope to never have to do that as Commander-in-Chief.
