We helped bring the hardware. They brought the ideas. Builders at Hack the North went wild with creativity this year, and spacemandev was there to make all of their hardware dreams come true.

this is what makes hackathons fun. the hardware gives people the tools, but nobody really knows what those tools are going to become until builders start experimenting. crypto has a similar thing going on with $USDUC. the interesting part isn't just the token existing, it's seeing what ideas, products and pairs people eventually build around it. give builders the tools and they’ll usually find a use case you didn’t expect.

I'm excited about the new AMD Ryzen AI Halo because we need more local hardware for AI builders! There's something fun and exciting about building on your own machines rather than sending to the cloud! Should we do our own Hugging Face hardware for AI builders at some point?

People often ask how did the Unitree robots get so good all of a sudden. It wasn't all of a sudden, and it's because they ship their hardware and open source their SDKs. Arguably these robots are nearly useless out of the box, but you have full dev control of them. Because of that, the hardware has become a very popular R&D platform with an ecosystem around it and the Unitree G1 is undoubtedly an order of magnitude better than it could ever be at this point if Unitree was instead just doing quiet internal dev of both the hardware and software. Too many hardware companies for really cool products that seek to be community-driven (robots, AR glasses...etc) desire to make a profitable walled garden and their greed just ends up walling out developers and their product gets outpaced by the G1s of the world.

We need to make cartoons and anime like this and let the kids watch it instead of Cocomelon. Make the mechanics and the engineers the heroes in that and watch how more kids will now be interested in hardware and engineering. Btw, this was all done before AI.
