🟣 Barghouti: Cairo Meeting Produced Agreement on Unified Palestinian Vision for Gaza Dr. Mustafa Barghouti says last week’s Cairo talks (on October 23 and 24, 2025), hosted by Egypt, were aimed at forming a single Palestinian vision for Gaza’s future and second phase issues. ➤ Over two days, eight Palestinian factions — including Hamas, Islamic Jihad, PNI, PFLP, DFLP, and the PFLP-General Command — reached broad agreement with Egyptian mediators. 🟣 Barghouti: Cairo Meeting Produced Agreement on Unified Palestinian Vision for Gaza Dr. Mustafa Barghouti says last week’s Cairo talks (on October 23 and 24, 2025), hosted by Egypt, were aimed at forming a single Palestinian vision for Gaza’s future and second phase issues. ➤ Over two days, eight Palestinian factions — including Hamas, Islamic Jihad, PNI, PFLP, DFLP, and the PFLP-General Command — reached broad agreement with Egyptian mediators. The core principles: 1️⃣ Prevent any return to Israel’s genocidal war. 2️⃣ Reject all forms of ethnic cleansing. 3️⃣ Ensure Gaza is governed by Palestinians, not foreign powers. 4️⃣ Preserve unity between Gaza and the West Bank. 5️⃣ Support a UN-mandated peacekeeping force, stationed on Gaza’s borders, to oversee Israel’s full withdrawal from the 53% it still occupies — not to govern or occupy Gaza itself. ➤ The factions also called for a broader meeting to form a national consensus government for Gaza and the West Bank, and continue developing a unified strategy for the postwar phase. A temporary administrative committee would be made up of independent Palestinians from Gaza, unaffiliated with Hamas or any faction, and coordinating with the Ramallah government. Senior Hamas official Dr. Basem Naim addressed demands for Hamas to disarm in an interview with Sky News’ Yalda Hakim. He spoke of possible “modalities” to “control the portfolio,” but emphasized this would not mean stripping the resistance of its arms.
