He's right. The Irish are our neighbours and have lived in the British Isles for thousands of years. Whatever history is between the British state and the Irish is for us to solve. It doesn't concern foreigners from halfway across the planet. Browns and blacks are from other continents and are vastly different from British people, who have been here since 1948 at best, but most arrived post 1997.

When you see the Irish and the British coming together because of migrants from thousand of miles away, you know you fucked up.

Windrush weren't invited, they just turned up. Irish weren't invited either, they retained rights they had as part of the United Kingdom pre-Free State so could move freely between Ireland and England with zero immigration requirements.

I get what he is saying. Some immigrants assimilated because the culture is so similar - Christian. Some dont and both language & culture are hindrances. In large numbers this is a problem. It would be helpful for presenters to listen & understand instead of waiting for an opportunity to sneer at the working class Brit who perhaps lacks good presenting skills
