0xSero helped me setup local models properly and I uh, had no idea these things had gotten this good Are they frontier level? No, but considering this is running on just my 5090 it's remarkably capable First tests on a couple of programming tasks and the qwen 3.6-27b model with no reasoning feels about on par with something like sonnet 4-ish, probably better it's really impressive But also setting up local models isn't easy, I don't know nearly enough to talk much about it yet other than you need to know what you're doing to have a good experience. The out of the box stuff is not nearly as good as setting it up correctly

VERY COOL!! Thanks jordan for the tip, I can now test my iOS app on web I asked Claude Code to set up serve-sim, a web-based iOS simulator that can stream the iOS app my Claude Code on VPS built live to me, because it's on some Mac Mini in the cloud without even a GUI (it's headless) I cannot actually try it on the Mac itself! Before Claude would make me a page with screenshots but I had no idea how the app felt, now with this it works This is hosted on the Mac Mini via SSH (it shows localhost but it's a tunnel via SSH to the Mac Mini), bit laggy but nice!

Qwen 3.6 35B running at over 100 tokens per second on my $5,399 MacBook Pro M5 Max. This is the best local AI model I have ever run. 128GB of unified memory. No cloud. No API costs. No rate limits. Just raw local inference at speeds I didn't think were possible on a laptop. This model is more intelligent than GPT 5 on benchmarks. Running locally. On a MacBook. For free after the hardware cost. I said local AI would never compete with frontier. I'm starting to rethink that. The gap is closing faster than anyone expected.

The era of Automated Research begins: Now we have 4 tents set up for Claude! A bit more to do. Wire up the devices to be controlled, get the agent platform ready- and complete the plumbing. I wonder what we'll find when we use Artificial Intelligence to conduct research in Agricultural Optimization? I think for the first run we should let Claude define the experiments. I'm curious what he'd come up with- I'm personally interested in polyphasic photoperiods- Basically two night cycles in one 24 hour period. 🍅🏴‍☠️

Copy the file path for Kaspad -Paste it in a terminal window, press space, then type “- - utxoindex” (no space between the two dashes). -Press enter and let it run. Use a mini pc or something without a display that can run 24/7. I am using an M1 Mac Mini.
