Robinhood Head of Crypto explains why they’re building an L2 on Ethereum “We wanted the decentralization and security of Ethereum. We also wanted the liquidity available in the EVM space. So that’s why we decided to do an L2 — that way we can customize everything we want to do to really make The Robinhood Chain the best real world asset chain, and at the same time, have all the benefits of Ethereum.” Source: Anthony Pompliano 🌪

Sushi just brought $HYPE to Robinhood Chain. Leveraging LayerZero, the Sushi.com DeFi platform has brought Hyperliquid's $HYPE token to Robinhood Crypto Chain. This is the first time that the asset has been tradeable on the hot L2 and we expect $SUSHI to bring other assets into the fold in the future.

Uniswap is set to dominate Robinhood's new blockchain... Robinhood Crypto has officially launched mainnet for its new Robinhood Chain L2, and already Uniswap is serving as the "primary public AMM" on the network. Robinhood Stock Tokens are already live on Uniswap and the DEX is well-positioned to capture any value that the new L2 accrues. For context, Uniswap has already generated some $5.6B in total fees.

Robinhood didn’t want to be “alone on a private island” they think they’ll gain more users as an Ethereum L2 than an L1. if even Robinhood thinks that, nobody should build an L1. “We want to recreate the entire financial system onchain. We need everyone to be able to come to our island.” they chose Ethereum as the place to recreate the financial system because: → the most decentralized & secure → access to the deepest liquidity & users “If we really want the stock market onchain, we need to have this liquidity. It’s not going to be possible on a closed chain with like 20 different hoops before you can bridge.” Robinhood Chain is in private testnet, an Ethereum L2 built on the Arbitrum stack. they’ve already tokenized 1,000+ stocks.
