Spoke to a few NFL refs this morning and a couple that are retired: 1) “The official on the left hash behind the Offense would be responsible for calling a hold if he sees one, from that view, not a hold” 2) “If the blocker is strong enough to keep a defender directly in front of him, and blocker gives up, that is not going to be called.” 3) “Not a hold if he keeps his feet in good position which is another thing we look at.”

This is not what we Ukrainians would want to see from our windows in winter. It would be better if the voices and laughter of children making snowmen or playing snowballs echoed from the courtyards of residential areas. One could step out onto the balcony and watch that very scene while sipping a warm tea or coffee, rather than the sights we see now. You cannot distract yourself from thoughts of the war for long; it continues, and everything around us tries to remind us of that. Over the years, the brain tries to pretend it has adapted to everything happening around it - to what the ears hear and the eyes see, to the various situations that occur here every day. But sanity is always on guard, and an inner voice says without words: this is not a normal life for a human being; if only everything could return to the way it was before. But is it even possible to return to the life we had, carrying such an experience on our shoulders? … Now, in the "points of warmth," you can see beds. You might ask: are these for overnight stays? The beds are intended for people who need assistance in the event of an emergency or for medical reasons, as well as for temporary rest if a person is in need of it… but people are still forced to return to their apartments.

I think a big mistake is believing that if something is here, we should be able to see it. Right? The lights in the sky and the pilots or the gods or whatever they are? I think we assume out of arrogance and ego. An insect can crawl across your hand and never understand that you are a whole entire being. It only experiences pressure, heat, vibration, and movement. A fingertip appears. A shadow passes. The insect never sees the body attached to it. The insect does not have access to the full image. Ever. I think our situation may be exactly the same. Whatever people call the phenomenon, nonhuman intelligence, gods, or something else entirely, may be present in full while we only register a portion of it. We notice effects, not the actual being. Changes in perception. Anomalies. We expect a face when all we are capable of sensing is the fingertip. Let me explain. Reports are always partial and strange. Lights, shapes, impressions, symbols, missing time, pressure, fear, calm. None of it ever shows us a full being, or the real craft; because our senses are not built to assemble it. Just like the ant cannot assemble a human from a few sensations. Now that doesn't mean what we are seeing is fake. It means the insect’s world is smaller than the thing interacting with it. The response must still be reasonable and proportionate to an imminent threat of death or serious bodily injury. A shove is not deadly force. A knife to the heart is. The jury delivered a verdict in roughly 3 hours because any person capable of basic reasoning (not a retard) could see this was escalation, not self-defense. His “community” is now spinning fantasies and rewriting facts because they simply refuse to accept that he must be held accountable for what he did. Fortunately, despite its many flaws, this country still requires accountability. We are not a barbaric society of savages. Not yet.

Hage loved soccer and the #DrHageGGeingob Cup had his heart. He also adored Amos Shiyuka, whose brainchild this is. As we were driving home from the 2023 Cup, the radio announcer said it would be the final instalment and Hage was quick to say, “it’s not true.” I am glad that he was right. Today, we go to the final edition of the Cup with heavy hearts that he is not here but happy that it is happening. Thank you Amos for honouring Hage while he was with us and your continued love and support towards Hage’s legacy.

World Models are the path for some AI Models in the future. But how can we efficiently train these models to not only see the world the way humans do but to see the world in a new and unique way. By visualizing, what is normally sequenced audio patterns, we can derive much more insights. Here we see Paganini in a visual form that can than be described and transcribed into a World Model. We can observe connections in a manner that may not have been clear prior to the digitalization of music and sound in this way. The company with the most valuable potential in building a World Model is Tesla. Not that this type of visualization is being used, but that the mechanisms are in place, and the technology is in place for the company to thrive in this new form of AI.

Americans are not ready to watch sons and daughters hunted by FPV drones. Some may not like this post, and that’s OK. Some may see this as being a “panican,” and that is also OK. My tolerance for American blood being spilled is very, very low. But this needs to be said: If you have paid any attention to the war in Ukraine, you will know how drone warfare has escalated. You will have an understanding of the sophistication of the Ukrainians and Russians in their pursuit of hunting and killing each other with human-guided robots strapped with explosives. We know Russia and Iran share military ties; hell, the most common form of long-range standoff munition used to target Ukrainian infrastructure is an Iranian-designed Shahed drone. Now, are the Iranians as sophisticated as the Russians? No. But will a ground action result in grainy videos of Americans being hit by FPV drones? Almost certainly. Could the deployment of ground forces to the Gulf be a feint? Sure, it could be, but this point extends beyond Iran. The U.S. needs to be ready to counter the drone menace. I won’t pretend to know the inner machinations of the Joint Chiefs, the White House, or President Trump, but with the destruction of an E-3 Sentry on the runway, it has become absolutely clear the U.S. armed forces have not scaled their ability to handle drones. I don’t know what the answer here is, but I haven’t seen this point brought up at the frequency it deserves. It needs to be said. We are not ready for footage of American soldiers and Marines cowering in their last moments, set to some upbeat pop song or some cleric screaming praises to Allah.
