This is actually super smart. You should charge companies a ton of money to do more tailored ads (i.e. if my prompt is "add observability to this project" people can bid to be shown as options to give to the agents)

Avid amp user here: I'm pretty shocked by this decision. How does amp decide to serve me an ad? Are technical decisions it makes dictated by ads? What is the data privacy agreement with free mode? How are code snippets from free sessions shared with ad partners?

It’s a new opt-in mode. Nothing changes about the default mode, now called “smart” mode. Ads are shown separately and never influence Amp’s responses. Code snippets aren’t shared with ad partners, but free mode does require you to opt into training mode, which shares thread data for training with us and the free model providers.

Not sure yet! Gotta figure that out. Probably eventually some kind of auction system.

i think you need to show the most complex task the amp free agent can do, if only for changing background color i mean like :) I would like to know when to use the frontier model and when to use this amp free. I'd like to know the capability and task complexity it can do.
