We must not be watching the same Gundam because yes he literally dedicated and gave his life for it.

Oh come on, you know the loudest parts of Gundam Twitter don't watch Gundam.

Also you were mentioned by this furry clown lmao

>"CEO of Freedom" >follower polices lmao

Did you see that terrifying bio?

Love it when people read the source material, miss the point, read the critiques from others who missed the point and trot it out to act sophisticated.

Lt. Quattro was Char the entire time!?

People talk like Char randomly turns evil in CCA. That's false. Char was the only legitimate political heir, he got cucked out of his birthright by every major political faction who then proceed to be the most cruel and incompetent political leaders in human history.

Were seeing levels of "wow cool robot" only once memed about

Doesn't he say something about having felt like a clown giving this speech not too long afterward?

What? Where did you see that?

@MoonstruckTwolf it was before, but in the sense he has to make himself a presenter / MC to get his point across rather then actual clown

@Shr00msy Yes, there it is, thanks! I misrembered the timing but the point is that his words and actions outside this speech don't suggest that he's a very ideologically comitted person. This political grandstading feels like a performance to him and he hates doing it.

@Shr00msy Ultimately he's only half-committed to just about anything he's involved in besides being an ace pilot, which is a big part of why there's a giant trail of dead and emotionally wounded people in his wake. Even his revenge on the Zabis feels like an opportunistic sidequest.

Definitely his political views but to say he dedicate his life to it is pretty wrong, a lot of his actions were based on revenge and grief not on some noble efforts.

They desperately want Char to just be le-heckin evil Nazi badguy who didn't have any nuanced or rational motivations for anything that he did.

He did believe in those things, however, by CCA his deppression and thirst to settle the score were much more important. By the end those were the things that fueled him, the spacenoid cause became an excuse for him to get back at Amuro and die in glorious battle.

Look guys! Shoomsy found that faggot I was talking about earlier.

Literally why Char is the GOAT

The entire fucking point of the character was that his "ideals" were, while noble, ultimately just an excuse to satisfy his own complexes and feed his ego. This is why he turns to meaningless genocide and attempted martyrdom when he runs out of real battles to fight.

His ego was non existent in Zeta. He grew out of that. He says many MANY time in CCA that he hates being in the spotlight. He truly believed in his ideals.

Char torpedoing the AEUG/Neo-Zeon alliance out of pure ego is one of the shows most pivotal moments. The final episode LITERALLY has him getting out of his suit to have an argument on a fucking stage with the other two leaders about his ideals. They couldn't make it more obvious.

Other two leaders? What other two leaders? Were you fukn zooted watching it?

Haman Karn and Scirocco. All three get out of their MS in episode 50 for little real reason to have a contrived 3-way chat in a theater before getting back in.

I can't belive that evil spacenoid would steal the identity of our beloved lieutenant Quattro Bajeena to deliver this Zeon propaganda!

This dub sounds nice. What's the consensus on these dubs?

Gundam dubs are amazing except the new seed

That's awesome.

For a split second I thought this was an edit of Char with robotic spider-legs as I was scrolling past

He literally becomes everything he criticizes. Not to mention that he drags Zeon into another warโor rather, he fails to prevent Zeon from getting embroiled in another conflict against Earth and a civil war. A total failure and the biggest meme in the Gundam universe.

And than he dropped a colony

@grok whats the name of the OST used here?

Char being Space Lenin as usual

I really need to watch Universal Century Gundam series

At the time of zeta he was the same mind as Amuro, but by the time of CCA....
