Hate crimes in NYC are up over 70% under Mayor Mamdani — with a disturbing spike in antisemitic attacks. According to the latest NYPD stats: 68 confirmed hate crimes last month vs. 39 a year ago. Of those, 41 were antisemitic (up from 24) — a 70%+ jump in crimes targeting Jewish New Yorkers. Antisemitic graffiti has also been popping up in increasing amounts across the city, in addition to the surge in antisemitic protests. This afternoon, in honour of #NelsonMandelaDay, we gifted visually impaired residents of Ga-Rankuwa with blankets. The residents are members of the Ikageng Self-Help Association of the Blind. We chose Ikageng because of the important work the organisation provides to vulnerable members of our community. Ikageng helps keep its members active and educated. In addition to the blankets we’ve donated today, we will be assisting the organisation to rebuild its garden so that the community can benefit from the vegetables and fruits grown from this yard. Getting harder and harder to keep an actual physical shop open,the way the club has stopped people taking bags in the ground and the extra searches we think that it’s having a massive effect on our sales,a lot of our business in the beginning was mates and locals unfortunately due to the cost and hassle of now the way it’s gone to get tickets a lot have stopped going the game,most games this season the shop has been really quiet but we have to keep it stocked the best we can,a lot of the online companies doing what we do are print to order so don’t have to keep stock hopefully things will pick back up as we love having the shop open on matchdays 👍but also we would have to weigh up the cost of running the building and upkeep so if you want to keep local business going please support them on a matchday 👍
