🏘️Another failure from Fianna Fáil and Fine Gael to deliver on housing. 68 homes in Eastwall which were about to be built were cancelled at the last minute because of Fianna Fáil and Fine Gael total incompetence. They need to stop the messing and give Dublin City Council the funds to get these homes built. We’re in a housing crisis. These homes must be delivered. #EastWall

Our children, our families and our communities deserve so much better. We need a major change of direction focused on building public housing on public land, getting rents under control, and opening up derelict homes. All of this is possible. Word on the street is clear - people are under real pressure and see that Fine Gael and Fianna Fáil have abandoned them in this budget. Every conversation I’ve had reveals how hard the cost of living is hitting workers and families. People hoped this budget would offer real relief, but instead Fine Gael and Fianna Fáil have left them worse off. It doesn’t recognise the reality of the rip off. Soaring prices, massive bills, rent, food, and everyday costs. People need proper support. You deserve so much better. I’ll keep fighting your corner.

14 days into this SNA crisis, Fianna Fáil and Fine Gael clearly don’t value the work SNAs do day in, day out. Their cruel approach is damaging the experience of so many children who rely on their SNAs. What we need is not a pause - the government needs to make it absolutely clear that children and schools will not lose SNA supports.

In 2021 Glenveagh were as good as gifted the public land at Oscar Traynor Woods. Today, their profits are up 103%, for every unit they deliver €50,000 is pure profit while their ‘affordable housing’ isn’t affordable and their building standards have resulted in work having to be halted! The private market does not have the capacity or the interest to provide genuinely affordable housing, this is why we need to break with them and end our dependence on profit-driven developers. A state construction company can build genuinely affordable housing because first and foremost it exists to house people, not to make a profit off of peoples housing insecurity. That’s the difference. In 2025 we need a bold and radical housing movement to fight back against the governments failed housing model. There are alternatives. There are solutions. Join PBP and help us build the fight for a future that puts people before profit!
