Let's set the record straight on a few things, especially regarding your claims about FISA, border security, and your overall angle on national security. First, your comments on FISA reauthorization are a spectacular miss. FISA, particularly Section 702, is not about warrantless spying on Americans. It targets foreign intelligence from non-U.S. persons located outside the United States. Yes, U.S. persons' communications can be incidentally collected, but there are strict minimization procedures in place. Painting FISA as some big bad wolf of warrantless spying is not just misleading; it's blatantly ignoring the facts and safeguards designed to protect Americans' privacy. Now, onto this binary choice you've concocted between focusing on border security and deporting terrorists versus utilizing FISA for national security. This false dichotomy is not just simplistic; it's dangerously misleading. Effective national security requires a multifaceted approach, not an either/or scenario you're peddling. FISA has played a crucial role in preventing terror attacks, cyber intrusions, and espionage. To suggest we dump a valuable tool like FISA for an oversimplified focus on the border and deportation is to grossly misunderstand the complexities of national and global security. Your rhetoric, intentionally or not, distorts critical security measures for political gain, undermining trust in our institutions and eroding the very fabric of our democracy. Our foreign team works to expand training missions as much as possible. Our military works to get infrastructure ready as quickly as possible and sends pilots and engineers to training. We need to make sure Ukraine is fully ready. Our goal is to get closer to the time when F-16s will help us keep Russian terrorists away. As fast as possible.
