A new Prime Minister and a new cabinet allow us to reset the tone and discuss how provincial and federal governments can work together to improve Albertans' lives. Instead, the Premier took it as an opportunity to make demands in the most juvenile and childish way. Her actions were insulting and certainly won't get us what we need. And what we need is an ethical, competent government. Yet again, Danielle Smith and the UCP have failed to deliver. #ableg #abpoli

Thanks to the Rachel Maddow for having me on tonight to highlight how ICE is terrorizing our community in Salt Lake City and across the country. We need leaders who will stand up for our immigrant communities, listen to them, and take on the authoritarians like Trump who think they can get away with these atrocities. We don’t need more status-quo politicians like my opponent, Ben McAdams, who has been bought-and-paid for by the private prison industry and ICE contractors. This new DHS facility (internment camp) moved forward without any community input. That’s not how democracy should work. We need systems rooted in compassion that create real pathways to citizenship, we need to abolish ICE and prosecute the folks responsible. The agency should lose any social license to operate for tearing families apart in our streets.

The appeals against the sentences of Imran Khan and Bushra Bibi were filed in January 2025. Nearly a year has passed, yet the cases have still not been heard. Today, we are present at the Islamabad High Court to peacefully raise our voices. After this, we will proceed to Adiala Jail to join Imran Khan’s sisters in support of their long-overdue and rightful demand to meet him. For several weeks now, Imran Khan has been unlawfully denied meetings with his sisters, the Chief Minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, his lawyers, and party leaders—in clear violation of court orders. The entire nation is deeply concerned about his health, as even his personal physicians continue to be denied access. Today, his sister and the Chief Minister attempted to meet the Chief Justice at the Islamabad High Court but were unable to do so. This unlawful isolation must end immediately. #GiveAccessToImranKhan

Friends can be competitors, Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney and I agreed today as he called me so we could, among other matters, exchange well wishes ahead of South Africa’s knockout #fifaworldcup match against Canada in Los Angeles tomorrow night. Mark Carney and I work together very well on many issues in our bilateral relations and in our roles in the international community but we’ve agreed to disagree on proceedings tomorrow night. Like all South Africans, I look forward to our Boys dazzling and defeating the Canadians en route to the last 16. Of course, we wish Canada well as they prepare for 90 challenging minutes of African football. Kaofela! Go Bafana Bafana! I’ll be happy to call the Prime Minister this time.

EU foreign ministers are planning to discuss the possibility of engaging in direct talks with Russia when they meet later this month - Kaja Kallas "Before we discuss with Russia, we should discuss amongst ourselves what we want to talk to them about, and that is why we have Gymnich meeting coming with the Foreign Ministers." Kallas stressed that the issue of European security is that Russia constantly attacks its neighbours and how we can prevent this. She also responded to Putin’s proposal to appoint former German Chancellor Gerhard Schröder as a negotiator between Russia and the EU: "First, if we give the right to Russia to appoint negotiator on our behalf, that would not be very wise. And second, I think Gerhard Schröder has been high level lobbyist for Russian state-owned companies."

The debilitating condition with a range of symptoms including severe exhaustion and constant pain, affects around 400,000 people in England and Wales. But with little funding allocated, is the plan enough to deliver the progress and recognition they need? Minister for Public Health and Prevention, Ashley Dalton, said that the plan 'will help tackle the stigma and lack of awareness of this condition through improved training for NHS staff'. The Pennine Care NHS Foundation Trust told us: 'Due to patient confidentiality, we cannot comment on individual patient cases or discuss specific clinical interactions.'
