I am so fed up. The image of Henry’s hand is staying with me and I’m going to hold it in my heart. I don’t want this to be a moment in time. The establishment are just waiting for this to fade away but we will never forget. Thanks for being a voice for the people Tommy, your words and anger reflect exactly how I and most of us are feeling. I’m so fucking sad and angry.

The double standard is just extraordinary by latenight show Okay so let’s actually connect this to late-night shows. Trevor Noah on The Daily Show dropped a big 18-minute monologue about George Floyd back in 2020. It was one of the pieces everyone was sharing. Colbert did multiple episodes on it — like straight-up monologues in early June 2020 and again when the trial happened in 2021. Fallon, Kimmel, Corden, Seth Meyers… they all opened their shows with it. Seth even had his writer come on multiple nights talking about her own experiences with police. John Oliver did a whole episode basically dedicated to the protests and policing after Floyd. They made “I can’t breathe” a huge thing for months. Now Henry Nowak. 18 years old. Walking home from a night out. Gets stabbed five times. His killer lies to the cops and says Henry was the one being racist. Bodycam footage shows Henry on the ground saying he’s been stabbed and “I can’t breathe” over and over. One of the officers literally tells him “Don’t think you have, mate.” Henry died right there. The guy who stabbed him just got life with a minimum of 21 years. And what did The Daily Show do? Nothing. Colbert? Nothing. Fallon, Kimmel, Oliver? Nothing. Same words. Same situation with police on scene. Totally different reaction from late-night TV. That’s the double standard right there.
