2. Know when to Quit I've been told I'm too strict and lack grace in my relationship advisory because I'm always asking people to throw away bad and toxic partners away instead of working through it. If you understand that we all know what we are doing, you'll make better decisions with respect to whom you commit to. Like I've said plenty times, the relationship you don't throw away after 3 months of toxicity will become a 5 year anniversary. Whether you're happy or abused, time flies and you'll mark anniversary. How you want to mark your anniversary is entirely up to you. In the movie, Ava started out with Dallas when she was 17. The relationship was toxic from onset and she never smiled at the wedding. For the next 20 years, she suffered but she loved him. Now, if she had thrown him away after a year, it wouldn't have gotten to 20 years of abuse because that is a lot of damages for anyone. She was yet to even have a child at 37. Again, we accept the love we think we deserve - even if it kills us.
