We need more mental institutions.

My every other comment is literally to Bring Back Mental Institutions. These people cannot be roaming around society. They are a danger to us and themselves.

Dealing with people like this use to soak up about 30% of my time as a police officer and we had no place but jail to take most of them when they melted down. Available beds in mental wards were rare and sometimes the wait, even in a crisis situation, could be days or weeks.

You are absolutely right. As a nurse, I believe we should be able to require compliance with mental health and drug rehabilitation. Sadly we can’t.
