I was told no legal interactions/decisions for 48 hours after my colonoscopy because of the anesthesia. Patients coming out of anesthesia shouldn't have to answer questions.

Nurses deserve a bajillion dollars.

They probably wanted to know who tried to kill him so they can take a killer off the streets. But you go ahead with your story

The random lunatic replies to this really are in a league of their own.

Definitely not a lawyer as evidenced by this never happened rant

Everything she says is correct and she is actually a nurse who is recalling something that did happen to her so congratulations on being more wrong than I’ve ever seen anyone be in a one sentence reply.

States she’s not a lawyer. 4th amendment applies to search, she never stated that a search was conducted. Nurses lack the authority to expel officers from facilities as long as they are in furtherance of their duty Officer may stay so as to determine if ind is going to pass away

✅ FACT CHECK: 1. “States she’s not a lawyer.” Irrelevant. She doesn’t need to be a lawyer to understand hospital policy, patient rights, and legal restrictions on law enforcement inside medical facilities. Nurses are explicitly trained on all three.

❌ 2. “4th amendment applies to search, she never stated that a search was conducted.” Correct—but irrelevant, because this situation wasn’t about a search. She never claimed a search occurred.

She said: • The officer wanted access to the patient • The patient was not medically fit for questioning • Hospital policy and patient rights barred that access • She told the officer to leave This is standard hospital procedure, not a Fourth Amendment argument.

❌ 3. “Nurses lack the authority to expel officers from facilities as long as they are in furtherance of their duty.” This is simply false. Hospitals have the legal authority to restrict law enforcement access.

Hospitals, not nurses.

This thread shows who has and who has not had a procedure. When you do your consent it specifically states not to make any legal decisions etc due to anesthesia. Aside from that, one of the main things a nurse is supposed to do is advocate for their patients. Kudos to that RN.

Happy that she made him wait hours before making him leave.

And you have no authority to remove police officers from the hospital

I love her, but she shouldn’t have been the first one to do that. Inside the healthcare facility, you are the authority. Not the police. Exercise that. Leave your authority bias at the door. Ask questions. Protect the patient. Every professional that walked past or spoke to that officer violated HIPAA which covers privacy, access and control, and they should all be reprimanded. And for the officer to sit there and wait, knowing they didn’t have the right, they’ve likely done it before. Imagine how many potential people could’ve been interviewed without consent. Wonder how many ended up doing time… How many times has this happened elsewhere?

I will take things that never happened for $100 Alex.

Hospitals need to re-train their staff who answer phones who are already trained not to give info on patient’s anyway. But shit will happen.

She's only missing the ring. Probably can't wear it in surgery.

Reminds me of the nurse, Alex Wubbels, who refused to allow a cop to draw blood on a burn patient who had been involved in a horrific car accident and was in critical condition (accident was not caused by the patient and there were no arrest warrants arrest for that patient). I am glad there are nurses out there standing up for patients who are critically ill. We do need nurses like this.

She’s not a dumb nurse; she’s a smart nurse who cares about patient rights. ♥️

Easy Karen. For all she knows the patient could’ve been a victim and the officer was trying to find out who f*cked him up.

They are NOT GOING AFTER MURDERS rapists drug & human Traffickers! They’re trolling Children in school people in hospitals Old ladies selling Fruit on street! Infact Trump JUST PARDONED THIS DRUG TRAFFICKERS! @Sec_Noem EXPLAIN THIS!!! 🤬

It’s something we never thought we’d see, time to wake the fuck up and deal with it fast. This will make or break this country. This is where we should all come together and stand up for the America we want.

They are all like this—we need them to be safe while they guide us healing. Nurses are ROCKSTARS, but better!

Nurses' jobs are hard enough. t-rump's goons are trying to make their lives much more difficult. They're trying to k*ll us all.

Not a dumb nurse, an absolute legend

One time there was a nurse that did this, but apparently, that guy that was in surgery was crashed his car that had killed nurse’s son. She keeps her phone in the locker as an OR nurse and didnt know. She kicked out the officer who wanted to investigate the death of her own son

This isn’t Grey’s Anatomy. This isn’t Law & Order: SVU: Hospital Edition. You just made up an entire plot because you can’t accept the real, boring truth: The nurse followed policy, the officer didn’t have authority, and that’s the end of it.

I did make it up lol

🎯🎯She is spot on! Never divulge patient privacy...

What if he’s suspected of killing someone? Let the cops do their job.

You’re also not allowed to wear an OR bonnet, disposable OR gown and surgical scrubs on the street Becky… Where infection control…

That nurse is insane, of course the officer has a right to be there this is America. The only people who don't have a right to be here are illegal aliens.

More nurses like her deserve to get everything they want on their off days

Sadly, you will see less nurses like this outstanding lady. The Department of Education's recent decision to exclude nursing (including advanced practice areas like nurse anesthesia) from the "professional degree" classification fundamentally alters the financial viability of CRNA and NP schools for many applicants. This change is part of the implementation of the "One Big Beautiful Bill Act" (OBBBA) and is scheduled to take full effect on July 1, 2026. #PoliLucid

So by telling the police officer the patient was out of surgery, she violated HIPAA in the process.

The most professional of professional degreed humans...

Isn't it bad enough that know-it-all nurses think they know more than doctors? This nurse apparently moonlights as a lawyer, too.

She's a lying Bich... nobody walks around in full scrubs on the street

Meanwhile he was just a witness and they just wanted to track down a suspect who’s now free to hurt more people. Also take off that dirty ass watch when you’re working on patients 😭

Thing is ice may comply with restrictions to a recovery room in a hospital, they’re taking people without any of those things, she’s still operating under the supposition these people are affording due process when most of the time they’re not

Nurses are heroes -- especially this one.
