We need to move forward and finish Durham/Shepherd. We cannot leave millions in federal $ on the table and a half-finished project. At the heart of this is safety, drainage, and an economic driver for the community - a commitment to creating a safer, more resilient Houston.

Thanks for this exchange! In his rebuttal the mayor said that 3 lanes is only a problem if the lanes are narrowed also. So let's take that compromise, increase each lane by 0.5ft to make them the same 11ft as currently exist and move forward.

Cause it’s a bad idea and leaving (borrowed) federal money on the table is the patriotic thing to do ..plus the city is broke
