This scene alone makes the ‘86 movie have the highest confirmed kill count out of any Transformers film.

People joke about how this movie kills off most of the old cast, but nobody ever talks about how it opens with literal child death. Like, we SEE the children, and there ain't no way they escaped that

Me and my friend couldn't stop laughing on how the film straight up opens with an entire new bunch of characters violently dying due to the talking giant Pokeball being hungry

Been saying the same thing for nearly 40 years now.

The cartoon chomping sound effect always gets me

I watched this just a week ago because I felt like it and this opening is still just as scary and horrifying now as when I was a kid.

And then, immediately post-opening credits, the hardest narration of all time: “It is the year 2005…”
