There's definitely a social contagion component. This is actually attractive to them. They proactively take on and model these dysfunctional, victimized, abnormal identities (disabled, autistic, trans, bipoc) the way people in the 50s tried desperately to fulfill positive, functional, healthy roles (selfless father, chaste wife, dutiful son). But there is some physical damage happening, too. A hypernovel, toxic stew of screens, social media, porn, lack of sun, exercise, and nature, pharma injuries (SSRIs, fluoroquinolones, vaccines, benzos), circadian dysfunction, EMFs, and poor diets push vulnerable people over the edge, or maybe make people vulnerable to the degenerate social contagion.
