solid overview, though they didnt have first mover advantage. they launched late 2021 after defi summer + dog season when dextools was the dominant charting tool (definedfi also emerged around mid 2021). dexsc ended up winning on ui/ux (such as something as simple as faster chart loading times) and adding new evm chains expeditiously. iirc they used to manually vet socials but then yea made it automated

@dexscreener interesting yeah id probably say its relative tho, like being around in 2021 i would say gives someone that advantage over a gecko terminal who launched much later (even though its better imo) but again can't knock em for creating a kickass business lmao

Dexscreener has been extremely depressing and blackpilling. Poor communication for new integrations without clear understanding of where it stands, if anything is needed, any ETAs, etc. Reading through threads, it's not uncommon for people to be ghosted. Like it or not, but they are people's choice, and not having your product integrated in Dexscreener is a massive penalty to exposure or any chance for wider adoption. Not the “decentralised" future I dreamed about.

I remember it was poocoin that was the go to chart. Looked very basic but loaded the chart. Dextools came and beasted but I think that there was just too much noise on their dashboards that would make a normie trader overwhelmed. They also had issues loading charts + down time, so when dexscreener came about it was a no-brainer switch. Simple UI, clean, and the product focused on one deliverable: give the people their chart The money they make, that’s them capitalising on meme trader demands of token devs to spend on marketing - they just made the spend go through them rather than kols / agencies / sponsoring rally car teams etc Insanely good business model
