Bravo, @dog_rates! Everyone who loves both pets AND democracy should be speaking out like this. Ditch the Ring.

Check your local area, there are some places that will chip your pet for free. Our local fire department will scan a pet for free if you find a lost animal. Regardless, please chip your pets. You don’t want to regret not doing it.

This is why the camera system I have at home is entirely private and local. I have it registered with the city police department, so if something does occur and law enforcement thinks my cameras may have caught something, they can come ask me and I can choose to give it to them.

Important to note, the searchparty feature comes pre enabled on your ring device. You have to manually switch it off to not be included. Fuck ring cameras.

It’s why my ring is unplugged now. I also won’t answer the door anyway so don’t need a doorbell.

For anyone wondering, here's how you turn it off In Ring App: Tap the menu icon located at top left, scroll down to Control Center, then down to Search party, then scroll down to the bottom of that page. There are 2 settings to disable. Turn off Sidewalk while in Control Center.

Thank you. I used to never fear the government tracking me, now I do, however I have always feared big tech tracking me and now they are helping the government track my neighbors to be imprisoned and eventually they will come for us.

I'm surprised how few people know about microchipping their dogs. It's been around for yrs. Also, u can microchip your dog yourself if u are brave enough to do an injection. I watched a youtube how-to video first. I got this one on amazon & it was much cheaper than the vet.

I feel stupid for not even realizing this. I just saw the commercial and thought it was great to have another way to find a lost pet. Thank you for this, I wouldn't want ICE or any such group using my camera. I just disabled that option (that I didn't enable anyway. )

One of my favorite content creators here but you missed this one. So close though! It’s not of ICE, it’s for advancement of surveillance state in total. ICE already has its targets and “pet rescue” or whatever it’s called isn’t the first opt-out surveillance Ring and other sub devices has been used for. Store local, control your data. This isn’t about ICE.

I watched that commercial and I had that same mix feeling embarrassment about it until you put it in word exactly how it really is : mass surveillance. Thanks for posting about it and refusing to use dogs for this crazy project.
