Stephen Graham is, as usual, powerful & believable. I found the one shot filming distracting and the message confused - was it about Incel, brutal law & order procedure, the impact of social media on teenagers or that our schools are now 'holding pens'?

Reading comments on X I think a lot of viewers (inc my wife!) didn’t understand the incel element of the show, though it’s good that it worked without them knowing! As middle aged parents, we are oblivious to the incel infestation of social media and its relevance.

“You throw the stone into a pond and this ripple effect has been huge… But we never meant it to have this impact, we just wanted to tell a truthful and honest story.” Co-writer and actor Stephen Graham reflects on his powerful new Netflix series Adolescence, which explores difficult questions about childhood, internet culture, and toxic masculinity. The internet “is parenting our children just as much as we are,” he notes.

Argentine President Javier Milei on UK censorship: "Since the socialists came to power, they have been been putting people in jail for posts they made on social media. Many journalists here (Argentina) would also want to have it like that, because they don't like the fact that they have lost the monopoly on the microphone. It was a tool they could use to extort, smear and slander at will. Social media as interrupted their plans and they don't like it"

The manosphere is having a worrying impact on our boys and young men. Misogyny is spreading like wildfire, and social media algorithms are making it worse. If social media companies can't guarantee young people’s safety, then we have to take action.
